The best way to diagnose cardiac disease is a combination of using electrocardiogram (ECG) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). MRI presents the benefits of being non-invasive, non-ionizing, and cost-effective.
However, these two technologies have not been designed to be used simultaneously, or traditionally have not been compatible. Even with the use of specialized electrodes, MRI interferes with ECG and can distort the results.
Epsidy is inventing a new solution to address this issue.

◾ Acquisition and synchronization modules
✅ D-module, a dedicated data module and S-module, an MRI synchronization module, have been designed to capture ECG, MRI triggers, and return precise R-peak locations, with a millisecond resolution and a low latency, to help obtain top-notch image quality for each cardiac MRI exam.

◾ truzyG™
Pushing ECG analysis to the next level, truzyG™ reconstructs a true 12-lead ECG from an array of electrodes placed on the patient’s or volunteer’s chest.
✅ Based on a reference rest 12-lead ECG, truzyG reconstructs the 12 leads with a subject inside an MRI bore, with a field strength from 0 to 3 Tesla.
✅ A correlation coefficient helps ascertain the match between reference 12-lead and in-MRI 12-lead ECG.
✅ truzyG could be used in other scenarios where standard 12-lead ECG devices are not available.

◾ Wearable garment
Epsidy is developing a wearable garment to simplify the workflow, while enhancing the reliability of capturing high quality ECG data during a cardiac MRI exam. Although designed for MRI, it could be used for other applications where current 12-lead ECG options are limited.
Epsidy’s wearable garment is still under development and not commercially available. Its future availability cannot be guaranteed.
Comfort and workflow benefits
Recording ECG requires electrodes to be placed directly on the patient’s chest. Patient preparation can delay the time to examination, and needs the expertise of the healthcare practitioner to correctly place the electrodes. This can be uncomfortable for women who need to disrobe, or men who need to shave.
A wearable design ensures that electrodes are positioned automatically and reproducibly, streamlining the exam process while providing maximum comfort for patients, whether female or male.
By guaranteeing a reliable, high-density cardiac recording, Epsidy’s wearable garment has been especially designed to guide imaging and provide valuable data in the assessment of cardiac conditions.
And the bonus? Epsidy works with reusable electrodes – potentially obliterating the millions of disposable devices being thrown away each year.
